Privacy Policy — Hakus Radio (iOS)
Last updated: 3 October 2026
中文版
This page applies to the iOS (App Store) version of Hakus Radio. For the Android privacy policy, see here.
Who this applies to: the Hakus Radio app on the App Store (bundle ID cc.hakus.radio4). Contact: contact@hakus.cc.
In short: there are no accounts, and we don't track you. Your stations, favourites, history and settings stay on your device. The app shows non-personalised Google AdMob banner ads. Firebase Analytics is off by default and crash reports are on by default. We do not sell your data.
Data stored on your device
- Stations you add, import or save, your favourites, playback history and settings. This data is not uploaded to us, and deleting the app deletes it.
- Depending on your device settings, this data may be included in iCloud or computer backups of your device.
Network connections the app makes
- Radio streams. When you play a station, your device connects directly to that broadcaster's stream server, which, like any website, sees your IP address. Some stations also provide "now playing" information or artwork from their own servers.
- Radio Browser directory. The app sends a search to the open directory at radio-browser.info only when you search in Explore. It does not bundle or recommend any station list.
- Station lists you provide. You can import a station list from a URL you type or from a file you pick. The app downloads only the URL you enter and reads only the file you choose.
- Update check. The app checks for new versions through Apple's App Store lookup service.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
- The app shows banner ads served by Google AdMob.
- The app does not track you and does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission, so it has no access to the advertising identifier (IDFA). Ads are non-personalised, and no ad consent form is shown.
- To serve ads, cap how often they appear and prevent fraud, AdMob may collect your approximate location derived from your IP address, ad interactions, diagnostic data and an app-scoped identifier. See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Analytics and crash reports (Firebase)
- Firebase Analytics is off by default and only runs if you turn it on.
- Firebase Crashlytics is on by default and sends crash reports (device model, OS version, the crash stack trace) so we can fix bugs. You can turn it off at any time.
- Both switches are in Settings → Data & Privacy.
Device permissions
- Camera: only to scan a QR code when adding a stream URL.
- Microphone: reserved for the song identification feature (Apple ShazamKit). It is used only while you actively ask to identify a song, and we never record or store the audio. The current version does not offer this feature yet, so the microphone is not used.
- Bluetooth: the app lets audio play through Bluetooth headphones and speakers. It does not scan for or connect to other Bluetooth devices.
What we do not do
- No account or login, no tracking, and no access to your contacts, photos or GPS location.
- We do not record, download or store the audio you listen to.
- We do not sell your personal data.
