Privacy Policy — Pocket KBM

This policy covers the Google Play app Pocket KBM (store listing “Pocket KBM: Bluetooth Keyboard”, package name com.angel.pockethid), developed and published by Disconnect Lab, contact contact@hakus.cc.

Pocket KBM (“the app”) turns your phone into a Bluetooth keyboard, mouse, and gamepad for a computer. This policy explains what data is and isn’t handled when you use it.

In one line: the app has no ability to reach the internet. It cannot send anything anywhere, including to us.

What we collect

Nothing. There is no account, no sign-in, no advertising, no analytics, and no crash reporting. We do not collect, store, or receive any data about you.

Why it cannot reach the internet

This is not merely a choice not to connect. The INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE permissions are removed from the app’s manifest at build time, and the app bundles no third-party component that needs a network. You can check this yourself under “App permissions” on the Google Play listing: network access is not there.

What is stored on your device

• Settings — such as the transport mode and which bottom tabs you show.
• Custom pages you build — the position and label of each control, and the key actions you assign to them.

Both live in two separate files on your phone. Neither leaves the device unless you export it yourself (below).

Android backup

The app draws a deliberate line through Android’s system backup:

• General settings may follow your Google account’s encrypted cloud backup, so your preferences survive a new phone.
• Custom pages and the key actions inside them are excluded from cloud backup. They follow only a direct device-to-device transfer. What is in there is text you typed, and we would rather it stayed with you.

Backup files you export yourself

You can export your custom pages as a JSON file. The export goes through Android’s system file picker, so where it lands is your choice — if you pick a third-party cloud drive, the file is on that service and their policy applies.

That file contains your custom pages plus three preferences (transport mode, bottom tabs, action categories). It contains no purchase state, no information about computers you have paired with, and nothing that identifies you.

Please don’t put passwords in key actions

A custom page can send a line of text. The app warns you in the editor as well: do not store passwords, verification codes, or private keys as key actions. An exported backup is readable plain text, and anyone who gets that file can read what is in it.

The permissions the app asks for, and why

• Bluetooth (connect, advertise) — this is the whole app: connecting to your computer as a Bluetooth HID device.
• The app does not request the “nearby devices” scan permission and never scans for devices around you. The reconnect list comes only from the devices already paired in your Android settings, and you pick from it.
• Foreground service and notification — to keep the connection alive while you switch to another app. That notification is the visible proof it is running.
• Vibration — haptic feedback on button presses, from your own phone. (The app does not provide controller rumble on the computer; Bluetooth HID cannot do that.)

Purchases (Pro)

The one-time Pro purchase is handled by Google Play. The app only asks the Play Store whether this Google account owns pro_unlock, and unlocks accordingly. We never see or store your name, payment method, or transaction details — those belong to Google, and Google’s privacy policy applies to them.

In-app review

The app may ask you to rate it through Google Play’s in-app review. That card is shown and handled by Google Play; we do not receive your rating, and the app does not behave differently based on how you rate it.

Logs

The app writes diagnostic logs on the device: Bluetooth connection lifecycle, report identifiers, and the name of the connected host. These logs never contain the keys you press or the contents of your key actions, and they stay on your device.

What we don’t do

• No accounts, no sign-in.
• No ads, no advertising identifier.
• We don’t sell data, and we have none to sell.
• We don’t log your keystrokes and we run no analytics or tracking servers.
• No remote-control channel of any kind — input is sent only when you press a control on screen.

Children

The app is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the date above.
